Returning from a weekend in Paris, I thought I’d share one of my favourite places to visit – Le Marché Bastille. When in Paris, I love spending the day walking and truly believe it is the best way to see and ‘feel’ a city – allowing you to find hidden gems that you otherwise might miss. I have been fortunate enough to visit a number of times and it is a very special place to me – plus only a short train ride from London, it makes for a wonderful weekend escape.
In a city that is filled with immense beauty, history and culture it is difficult to decide on what you do with just a couple of days in this magical place – however, I promise you Le Marché Bastille won’t disappoint!
Whether it is to pick up a coffee and crêpe for breakfast or ingredients for lunch or dinner, it is the perfect market to go to if you want to feel part of the city! Filled with locals doing their grocery shopping – it is a natural meeting spots for visitors and locals to come together. With over 200 vendors selling the freshest of fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, cheeses and wines – not to mention an incredible selection of flowers – it is somewhere everyone visiting the city needs to go.
On your next visit to Paris, make sure Le Marché Bastille is on your list!
